I am a licensed senior cosmetologist of 19 years. In addition to working behind the chair I’ve worked for Wella as a design artist and ran the apprenticeship program at my resident salon in Baltimore for 5 years.
I love working with all hair textures on both men and women and specialize in cut, color, highlights, hair painting, hair straighteners and relaxers, bridal and editorial work.
I have worked in the same salon for the last 20 years where I see clients but am happy to make house calls if there is a specific need for me to do so. Weddings and photo shoots are in salon or on site due to the preference of the client.
YOGA
I have a passion for working individually with people so I may give them the specified attention they need.
I'm an experienced certified yoga instructor specializing in custom private lessons to fit your wellness needs.
I am trained in prenatal, vinyasa, restorative/yin, aerial yoga, and meditation. I have certifications in Thai massage as well.

Mariko has been my pre-natal yoga instructor through two pregnancy's. I swear by her to anyone that will listen, how gentle, calming, but pushes me to go further. She's able to adjust to my ever changing needs in yoga as my body changed and still give me the best session, feeling stronger, stretched, and physically and mentally relaxed by the end!
I also have had the pleasure of having Mariko as my hairstylist, beautiful natural coloring, and changing styles as i transitioned from single, to married, to mom. She was even there to do the hair at my wedding and made everyone feel comfortable and beautiful, especially my 4 year old daughter. Really made the event special for us!
We can't say enough good things about her!

I went to Mariko's yoga class regularly and under her guidance has help me gain not only strength and flexibility but also a deeper understanding of yoga. She is able to adapt her approach to a class based on the skill level of the folks attending and in mixed level classes is able still keep it challenging for more experienced individuals while not making the less experienced ones feel put off or intimidated. She is also able to communicate the yogic philosophy in a realistic or approachable manner, meaning she's able to help her students apply it to daily life and encourages use of the yoga skills off the mat.
I've also had hair salon services with Mariko. She takes the time to listen to what your vision is and helps work with your hair's texture to create something perfect just for you. Scheduling was flexible and I just absolutely LOVED my style!!
I would totally recommend Mariko in both salon and yoga services! She listens to her customers, cares about their needs and delivers nothing but the BEST!!!

I have been attending Marikos restorative yoga class now for over two years. She is an intuitive teacher who leads through gentle instruction. I always leave her class feeling rejuvenated, relaxed and more centered. Her class is the perfect segway from a busy week into my weekend! I would highly recommend taking a class from her!

I have known Mariko for many years... she is an amazing guide physically, mentually, and spiritually. She has definitely helped challenge my fears - first handstand ever! - while also always maintaining even more respect to my body's limitations than me. I have followed her through vinyasa, hatha, restorative, and aerial and have loved every minute of it! She is a thoughtful teacher - always accommodating to her class - but what makes her loveable as opposed to just good? She makes it fun, she makes it about a celebration of oneself!

For over 2 years, Mariko Crafton has conducted with me personalized, weekly Yoga sessions in my home. Mariko is a highly trained professional who continually upgrades her knowledge and skills. She is prompt, reliable and makes efficient use of our hour session.
Because of some complexities due to contraction of polio in my childhood, I had been cautious about the types of exercise and stretching I practiced. Easing my concern, at the outset of every session,Mariko asked about and listened to my description of the current status of my body, and provided a session that met my needs. I am a healthier being as a result of Mariko's instruction.
