Introduction: My name is Loi Almeron, a Filipina video journalist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am passionate about creating fresh visuals and meaningful content for news, working in a fast-paced environment, and exploring the intersection of traditional and non-traditional reporting online.
I currently produce artistic video commentaries for social media platforms of Concerned Filipino Artists International, a group of women artists who create political yet witty art about current news in Asia. I also have published video stories on international relations between the United States and the Philippines, and on human rights, diversity and community development around the San Francisco Bay Area.
Before attending the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, I gained experience in producing and editing investigative documentaries for national and international viewers. My primary duties included research, producing, filming with Canon/Sony/Panasonic equipment, editing videos, writing scripts, and content delivery for broadcast and digital platforms. I am experienced in non-linear video editing with Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects.
I love producing and editing video projects that are creative and bring new and unprecedented ideas!
