Introduction: My name is Mike Bryce, and I teach private guitar lessons. I am a graduate of Bowling Green State University, and hold two degrees: Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I've been playing the guitar for 14 years, and I am comfortable teaching any style of music on the guitar, except classical. I've taught beginning and intermediate students the fundamentals of the guitar as well as popular songs in styles such as folk, rock, blues, country and jazz. I have experience performing and composing in all of these styles. In addition, I am also the founder of the Roots Music Club at BGSU.
I am located in Bowling Green, Ohio. I teach both half-hour and hour-long lessons; once per week is recommended. My rate is $20 per half-hour, or $40 per hour. I will gladly teach students of all ages and skill levels.

Mike is teaching my teenagers and has taught my 11-year-old. He has a good way with kids. He doesn't act overly excited about mediocre effort like some people who work with kids do. Instead he calmly gives praise or corrects and gives them time to work on what he's instructing. I don't need to monitor our guitar lessons or worry about whether Mike and my sons are getting enough done for my money. He's very trustworthy. Plus he's a cool guy who makes everyone just want to be good at guitar like him.

Mike has been "instrumental" in helping me learn guitar. I'm constantly impressed with his eagerness to help, and him going out of his way to review songs that I want to learn before the next lesson. He is a very talented musician who is extremely knowledgeable on theory as well as technique. I was fortunate to find him, and would recommend Mike to anybody I know looking to start the guitar or tune-up previous skills!

I'm an adult student that started as a beginner with Mike. I've been taking lessons with Mike for a year and a half and he has taught me a lot. I really like that he wants to focus on songs that I like to hear on a day to day basis. He's skilled not only in teaching but also his ability to jump from genre to genre. He literally knows anything from jazz to punk to heavy metal. We always have a fun and laid back lesson. He also encouraged me to step way out of my comfort zone and do an open mic night which I had a ton of fun prepping for and participating in.
