Introduction: As Einstein once said, if you can't teach it to a 6-year-old, you don't really know it. I certainly don't profess to be Einstein, but that statement underscores my teaching philosophy. I have been very successful because I can relate well to the student and can articulate difficult concepts in a very simple manner. I have a BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from NYU. Most of my career I was a Technical Sales & Marketing Manager of Industrial Instrumentation. Six years ago I began tutoring, and I specialize in Test Prep - SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT & SHSAT. I also help students in Algebra & Geometry. The New SAT has certainly created uncertainty because of the limited information available. Luckily I have 2 students that took the test on March 5th, so I have a good understanding of what students can expect. I love to tutor because it is so rewarding. Yes, getting a student into the school of their dreams is fabulous; but hearing a student say, "Oh, now I get it.", makes my day!

Ed first tutored our kids between dips in the pool and play dates out east- even though they were being pulled from fun activities for math tutoring we never heard them complain. Since than each child (ages 10 and 12) have entered a session with Ed saying they are confused and sometimes frustrated over the material they are covering in class. After a short time they feel confident in their material and credit Ed with helping them find this confidence and clarity. Ed is easy to communicate with and responds quickly to set up sessions and discuss progress and needs. Often New York tutors push their services and encourage frequent sessions even when not needed, but Ed encourages us only to contact him when the kids need him. It's refreshing and shows his integrity and desire for their positive attitudes and progress during their seasons together. As a former elementary school teacher myself- I can whole heartedly recommend Ed to any student for tutoring and/or test prep.

Ed is a great tutor! As a Junior in High School, I am currently in the middle of studying for my second SAT test and Ed has been great in helping get ready for the Math section of it. I have been struggling a lot with different sections from the Math and Ed's organized lessons and patience has truly helped me. Although I have only begun working with Ed just a few weeks ago and I have only had a few lessons, I can already see an improvement in not only my understanding of the materials on the new and revised SAT, yet also on my practice test scores. These improvements would not have been possible if it were not Ed's help and therefore, I whole heartedly recommend Ed as a tutor.

Ed helped my son prep for the SAT and was outstanding. My son had worked with many tutors, but he really connected with Ed. Ed was professional, courteous & flexible; but most importantly - he delivered results!

Ed is a great SAT math tutor! He has helped me tackle the toughest math questions and my score has improved by a lot. Ed knows how to find the problems I have difficulties with and helps me surpass these problems. Thanks to him I have learned a lot and I can apply all the new knowledge to my math class outside of SAT as well.

Ed was an amazing math tutor for me this year. I learned a lot and that really showed in my outcome in class. Ed was also very helpful with ACT preparation and I am definitely expecting a better score this time. His ability to teach math has helped me to understand the material permanently.
