Introduction: Following my training at SBU I moved to New York City and immediately became active as a teacher, performer and composer. I have classical training, but have performed music in a variety of styles for many years and continue to be involved in diverse musical communities, experiences which I pass on to every student I work with.
I believe its essential to cater to each students interests, strengths and weaknesses and individual learning styles, to create a teaching environment in which students can pursue their own musical passions while developing a strong technical foundation.
I am a passionate teacher who thrives on inspiring people to learn music and build upon a craft they can become invested in, develop a passion for and enjoy.

My child (age 12) has been studying with Jonah for two years and she can really play the guitar now! She can play Beatles songs and has started figuring out songs that she really likes from the radio! Jonah is so upbeat, enthusiastic, and really caters to her needs. I recommend him 100%!

My two children (ages 7 and 12) have been taking guitar lessons from Jonah for the last year and we have nothing but good things to say about him! He brings such joy to his teaching and is so patient with them both. They have made incredible progress in the last year! He gives lots of positive feedback and is so easy to work with. Would definitely recommend him!
