What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
WillYouLearn offers two semesters each school year. Each semester the students are allotted 16 one hour lessons at the same day and time each week followed by an end-of-semester make-up session. The tuition for one semester is $1550. Discounts are offered for early registration and yearly registration
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We do our best to match students with the best teacher for their needs. Each semester begins with a three lesson trial period in which a student may withdraw for any reason for a full refund minus the lessons to date.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our faculty members are fixtures in the NYC music scene, performing frequently at clubs from the Blue Note to the Bitter End. You can hear our voices, instruments, or compositions on countless recordings, film scores and shows. Fox 5’s Star of the Day or Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle.
We are graduates of NYU, New England Conservatory, Peabody, Manhattan School of Music, to name a few. We’ve studied music in the academy and honed our craft on band stands from L.A. to Shanghai, and learned to speak the language right here in New York alongside legends like Roy Hargrove, Jeremy Pelt, Ron McClure, Jean-Michel Pilc, Stefon Harris, Scott Colley, Christian McBride and others.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Will Armstrong started WillYouLearn in 2014 as a way of providing the highest quality music education to all ages while providing his fellow musicians with steady and reliable clients.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We've taught four year olds their first lessons, prepped high school students for college auditions, and reacquainted octogenarians with the instruments of their youth.
We’ve taught in grade schools, prep schools, boys and girls clubs, colleges, private homes and universities. We currently work with the Avenues World School and the Hewitt School and have given assemblies throughout the city.
