Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a producer and mix engineer at a full service modern yet analog centric recording studio, offering my clients the best of both worlds and an affordable, easygoing approach. Helping people's musical dreams come true is my favorite thing in the world I enjoy helping artists discover what makes them great and working with them to help their dream become real. I love to produce and mix projects where the song is the star and there is a vision to the work. Most people who do this can make things sound good, but often in a way that's generic and forgettable. I think the records we love to play over and over aren't necessarily the most sonically perfect, they're ones where the technical pieces were in sync with the artist's vision and something that's beyond tangible happens. Creating moments like that on records is my passion.

Supros (live recording) + many other side projects Caleb is very knowledgeable and has such a broad based of understanding of good music. And throughout the process of recording he's constantly proactively producing/solving problems before they even appear. His style of producing is one of collaboration with the artist or musician. Although he can have his strong opinions there is a gracious constructive push-back from him to do your best work in a non-authoritative or demeaning way. He always wants to make the best recording possible. His guitar tones are spot on. And I think he's always getting better at what he does. "Complacency" is the antithesis of his practice. Every single time, and I'm not exaggerating, he just gets better at what he does. The dude is passionate about the craft of recording and producing. Plus, he can rip on the guitar! Great sense of humor which makes the process of recording exponentially more enjoyable. Just bring up Monty Python or Spinal Tap and you'll have a good laugh! ;-)

I recorded a full length with Caleb in 2015 and couldn't be happier with end result! Caleb has an amazing ear for production and mix. Tones were on point and the gear selection was through the roof! Since I finished the project I've been looking for an excuse to go back in!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to get to know someone first and foremost. Making great art is a relational process. A longtime industry veteran once told me, "making a record is a lot like flying a plane. If you have a good approach, you have a good landing." While that's true of every part of the process, I think the right approach begins with finding a person that you enjoy working with, who understands your vision, who can bring the best out of you.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been a full time musician, songwriter, producer, and guitar player in various forms since I was 16. About 10 years ago, I made a little record with a band I was in at the time, and the producing bug caught me. I have been pursuing recorded magic ever since.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Bands, Singer-songwriters, church worship teams, lion tamers, etc.
