FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I use a estimating program called Xactimate so my prices are fair every time. Its an agreed on price that insurance companies have come up with to ensure homeowners are not taken advantage of. It's not made up like many contractors do so they can try and get as much money as they can squeeze out of people. I always want to be fair to my customers and myself. This program ensures it's fair to both parties. I always offer discounts to veterans and seniors Ask about special offers. I often offer different discounts for holidays or many different things. So please ask!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet customers, discuss their wants with their projects. Discuss both our expectations to get the project to run as smooth as possible. Provide an estimate and go over all of it. I want everything they want on there and make sure there is nothing missing and that they understand all of the charges. If they want to move forward I usually have a contact signed so they are protected that the job will be done for the price agreed and I am protected that I’ll be paid when they are satisfied and it’s done. I require half of the bill up front. Most times I don’t collect anything else until the job is complete. Unless it’s a bigger job I will set up a draw arrangement as the job progresses. When the job is done I like to do a walk through and see if there are any changes they may want. I advise them to make a punch list of anything the see they want changed or corrected. Collect final payment after it all and give them a paid in full final invoice with any warranty we discussed on the invoice for their records. I try and Check in with all my customers after a few months to make sure there are no issues with anything that was done!
