FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer package discounts (10% off if you pay for at least 8 sessions up front). For test prep if starting from scratch on SAT or ACT I suggest 12 and 24 session packages depending on score goals and baseline. If you just need a boost in one area 4 session packages are also available. If looking for on-going subject tutoring we can negotiate a longer term package and pricing arrangement. Prices depend on location and are approximately: $50 Online $65-85 In person depending on location
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A free phone consultation can help clarify goals and expectations to allow for the first session to be fully devoted to learning. Lot's of email communication allows everyone (parents, student, tutor) to be on the same page about where we're at and where we're headed. I see the tutoring process as a team effort and expect my students to complete the assigned homework. Things happen of course and so if there are ever issues, early communication will help ensure that the following session will still be useful and efficient. I work hard to help students meet their goals and so all assignments and expectations are built around the goals discussed during our initial consult.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to intense independent study I have been trained by top tutoring firms in Miami and Portland, all run by fellow Ivy league graduates. I graduated from Columbia in 2013 with a Bachelors in Environmental Biology and Sustainable Development. I am currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here in NC and continuing to learn and learn about learning.
