Introduction: CANINE PawRTRNERS DOG TRAINING caters to you and your dog's needs! Having years of experience as a certified trainer, I conduct group classes or private lessons and use the most up-to-date scientifically proven training methods. From puppy/beginner to advanced obedience, you will enjoy bonding with your dog as your dog's behavior improves! I am also a therapy dog and service dog trainer. I have a Masters Degree, am Accredited, am an AKC Evaluator, an APDT Member, a Pet Professional Guild Member, and a FACT(Force Free Alliance of Charlotte Trainers) Member. Are there certain problematic behaviors you need help with? I can work with you to retrain your dog and make life more relaxing, fun and happier for both of you! I have vast experience with resolving Behavioral Issues and Advanced obedience. All my teaching is force free so your dog and you love each other even more! I absolutely love working with dogs and animals and their pet parents! It's my passion! Watching the relationship and respect grow between pets and their owners is exceedingly rewarding. I thoroughly enjoy facilitating the communication bond between you and your pup. Dogs are extremely intelligent - more so than previously recognized and we have scientifically proven this. We simply need to learn the proper way to communicate with each other. Let me show you the way to have the companion you always wanted! I study the biology and neuroscience of dogs so I can teach from their perspective. Dogs perceive the world differently because their sensory systems are different than ours. We are primarily visual where as dogs rely more heavily on their scent/smelling abilities. They communicate and experience the world a little differently than us but we can learn to speak a common language. Furthermore, the neuroscience being done currently concludes that dogs are sentient beings and function on the level of human toddlers. My studies in this area allow me to help you establish a secure attachment between you and your dog so your dog really wants to be with you. They learn how to learn and how to follow your social cues to be the well-mannered secure dog you want. It is wonderful to see you enjoy spending time with your dog as your issues are resolved and a close relationship is established!

Robin has been training us and our very active and loving German Short Haired Pointer since we got her 2.5 years ago. She now has about 12 - 15 commands under her belt, or collar. She is great with kids, other dogs, and strangers. In fact, she is on the 'approved playlist' at her day care where she also goes twice a week! We think Robin's positive training (of us and our GSP) is a large part of the reason she has turned out so trusting and loving. There is still work to do, but we enjoy the training with our dog and with Robin.

Robin is a highly intuitive and skilled dog trainer. She loves dogs and dogs love her. She is gentle in her approach, and it is highly successful. Robin is not only wonderful with her dog clients, she is equally loved by the dog parents. She has a great sense of humor and patiently teaches mom and dad how to treat their four-legged kids.

We are attending a beginner puppy class with Robin and she is very knowledgeable and encouraging. She is all about positive reenforcement and helping the puppy to want to do what we are teaching them. We receive written materials every class covering the lessons practiced in class. She helps individually practice each new skill in class and works with our puppies to solve any specific struggle they may have with that skill. Our boy wags his tail and can't take his eyes off Robin as soon as she starts working with him. She is clearly a puppy whisperer! It is a very friendly and supportive class - there are no harsh techniques. It is very humane and also very effective. Our wild pup learned to sit on command the first class and now 3 weeks later sits and lays down with just hand signals and walks oh so peacefully on leash. He "stays" while waiting for his meals and has learned to "leave it" and "drop it." Admittedly he needs more practice on this last skill, but given that he is only 6 months old - that is not surprising. I highly recommend taking this class with Robin and your puppy.

I charge hourly so that you have flexibility in scheduling and are not locked into a set number pa packaged lessons. Some dogs learn faster than other and some issues are resolved more quickly. Let's customize and prioritize your needs and get the issues resolved!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to have a free, detailed phone conversation on what your goals are and to gather information about your dog. Next, we establish precisely how to accomplish those goals using the most up to date scientific teaching canine methodology.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am trained in Canine Behavior and Force Free Teaching Methods as well as the newest Bond-Based Choice Teaching (TM) Method. I continually attend conferences and do research on the canine brain, canines in medicine, canine training/teaching practices and behavior modification. I am a member of APDT and FACT(Force-Free Alliance of Charlotte Trainers) and PPG Summit Attendee. I give seminars on dog training, dogs for handicapped recipients, behavioral issues, and Bond-Based Choice Teaching (TM).
