About this pro
Lots of damaged/chipped/scraped furniture. Damage to my new property. They also didn't know how to fully operate the truck. It was really hot out though, so I do commend them on getting my furniture up three flights of stairs in the July heat.Jul 16, 2018Verified
Worst experience ever! Its started with them being late. I properly stacked every box so it would be easy to grab and go. They only moved my furniture and ran out of time and didn't move one box? Only moved a bed, w/d, 3 dressers, 3 couches, and entertainment center. Truck would not start, my husband had to give them a jump to even transport what little they did get on the truck. Worst experience ever. I would rather move it myself than recommend this service to anyone. Unacceptable on every level.Feb 1, 2018VerifiedBlake B.'s reply
Hello Terrameka, Thank you for choosing Hornet Moving and thank you for allowing us to resolve this issue with you to your satisfaction!
On pickup, the movers were two hours late. I now have five items damaged or broken (including a large deep freezer chest) and I am sorting out a refund or replacement for these items. Nobody representing the company that moved me was 'clean cut' and three of the four used abrasive/profane language. Good thing my kids weren't around. They were very strong and, for the most part, worked quickly.Jul 1, 2017Verified
Two young, polite, and professional men showed up to move my items. They moved like lightning and kept me involved every step of the way. I also applaud this company's diversity!Dec 1, 2016Verified
After reading multiple reviews, I was pleased to find a company with a 5 star rating and multiple glowing reviews. I was so excited to book Hornet Movers. The communication through the app was flawless, and whomever I spoke with was helpful and accommodating both through the thumbtack app and on the phone. Unfortunately, when the day of our move came things went down hill very quickly. First of all, the movers arrived 4 hours late they did not start the move until 5:00pm. This is after we called the office because they were 1.5 hrs late. The person in the office stated we would get a call in 15 minutes because the movers had just finished a job...we did not receive a call until an hour later when they stated they needed to eat because they just finished, which is NOT the Information the office communicated originally. The movers stated they would be there by 4-430. They then called at 4:25 stating they'd be there in 10 minutes. They didn't show up until 5 and the first words out of one movers mouth was, "How much stuff you got?"... no apology. The mover set down an empty fast food cup and left it there on the property. Both movers failed to introduce themselves even after I shook their hand and introduced myself. Both my roommate and I assisted in moving many boxes to help the process go by more quickly and at one point one of the movers asked for us to help. They dropped multiple boxes throughout the move. One of the guys helping would continuously throw boxes over his shoulder carelessly then drop them on the ground or into the truck. When I expressed my concern (especially with the more fragile boxes) he responded in a condescending tone with "ma'am we're professionals, I've been doing this for 15 years". Along with dropping boxes, our furniture was not protected with furniture pads. Resulting in multiple pieces of furniture with major scratches and dings. When I tried to offer OUR blankets for padding I was rudely told that they have it all on the truck and they are "professionals". When we helped unload the boxes off the truck later, most of our boxes, including all that were labeled fragile were UPSIDE-DOWN in the truck and not stacked efficiently. For example, our fragile boxes were on the bottom, which insinuates to me, the customer that the movers were careless and unapologetic. After packing up our small 2 bedroom apartment, we also had a small storage unit that needed to be packed as well (this was disclosed before the day of the move). One of the men, scoffed at us when we stated this and demanded I get him Gatorade while my roommate helped him unload the storage and his partner organized the truck. On the way to the new townhouse, the movers drove 30 minutes out of the way and did not follow my roommate which caused us to rack up even more travel time. The movers did not arrive at our new town home until about 9:30pm. In the beginning of unloading, they put the labeled boxes in the designated bedrooms as we asked. However, towards the end they ignored us when we asked them where to put things, and piled everything in the living room. They would also dump the boxes right outside the truck, and expected us to carry the small boxes in. As a paying customer I felt like this was unacceptable. I had high hopes, rather expectations, for this company and was let down in nearly every aspect. I do not suggest using this company and if you do, be vigilant and mindful of your expectations. *** Disclaimer: One of our movers was great. He was apologetic for their tardiness and carelessness with boxes and furniture. This review does not reflect on him.***Jul 4, 2017
