When writing my college admittance essays for my dream school, I ran into some trouble. I was so passionate (and scared) when writing, I felt my essays portrayed a sense of confusion, and not the sense of confidence and strength I was striving for. They didn't feel genuine to me, nor a good reflection of who I am. I went to Ms. Rachel Conrad for help in restructuring and editing my essays. She is one of the most positively influential people to be around and has the ability to help bring out the best in other people, which, in turn, helps them mirror that in their writing. I was on a tight deadline to get them turned in, and even though it was during a very busy time in her own life, she still gave me as much time as I needed. And this story has an awesome ending because I got admitted and am currently attending my dream school in Washington D.C.! This is no doubt in part because of the positive influence, support and knowledge I receieved from Ms. Conrad and how she has helped grow my editing and writing skills

Ms.Conrad was my 10th grade English teacher as well as my PSAT/SAT tutor. She was a phenomenal teacher who helped me grow not only as a student, but also as a person. Her bubbly and easy-going personality made working with her fun and enjoyable. Her caring nature made me feel like if I never needed someone to talk to I could turn to her. Being a junior, I had to get ready to take college admission tests, but with all new changes and all the different types of tests, I had no idea where to start. Luckily for me, Ms.Conrad was offering SAT/ACT/PSAT tutoring over the summer of my sophomore year. I was so excited to get a opportunity to work her again, I started immediately. She was really flexible and was always understanding of any difficulties or questions I had. She really brought out the best in me through each session so we accomplished every meeting. Now I can't wait to take my PSAT because, thanks to her, I feel confident and well prepared for it. I had also tried preparing for the PSAT through learning centers such as Sylvan, but the results and growth were nowhere near the same as working with Ms.Conrad. To the learning centers I was just another student, but Ms.Conrad really honed in on my strengths and weaknesses, she individualized my lesson plans so that whatever skills I, personally, struggled with she would help me improve on them. Her approach to the lessons made it so easy to follow and understand. I'm so thankful I worked with her because she did an amazing job and is definitely perfect fit for anyone looking for English or SAT/PSAT tutoring!

During the turtoring sessions not only did Ms.Conrad help me with the lessons,but she went the extra mile and made sure I enjoyed them as well. She brought out the most in each session and not only did it help me but it made me look at the lessons or subjects I was having trouble with differently. I'm very glad I got the help I needed from her because she was the perfect one for the job!

We meet every week at Panera, she was very flexible with her schedule and she made studying really fun. She really tries to understand the student and help the student bring the best out of them. I had a lot of fun because she really understood what I neede, which was great. If you need extra time on one session she would stay a little bit longer just to acomlished the goal

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our first meeting, I really listen to your exact needs and we discuss the best way to meet those. When tutoring for specific tests, I will provide you with a folder of resources, tips and tricks I've accumulated over the years, and that my previous students have found extremely helpful. I'm also very flexible, so as we continue, we can change anything as needed to best fit your needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two Bachelors degrees, one in Secondary English Education and one in English & Intercultural Studies, and I am currently earning my Masters in the interdisciplinary field of Education and Communications. I have both my Florida Professional Teachers' License and my Gifted Endorsement Certificate, as well as certificates for AP English Language & Composition and AP English Literature & Composition.
