FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price is normally $50 per hour of instruction, but I can be flexible. It can be broken into fractional parts of an hour as well. Included are materials I bring, and I will spend the agreed upon time to maximize learning.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk to clients on the phone first, to discuss my experience and find out what the client's needs are. We agree on a schedule that works for both of us and meet at the home or a library in the area. The first session can begin with getting to know the student a bit and working on an assignment or beginning subject matter practice. I like to get into the subject to assess what is understood and what needs work early on. The session ends and I report to the client my observations and lay out a plan for study.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BA in Elementary Ed., with a minor in Math. My Masters is in Reading. I have 17 years of Middle School Teaching, and over 500 hours of tutoring 1:1.
