Data Recovery Service
After having an unfortunate drive crash I searched the web and found the Thumbtack site where I found a listing for File Savers. A local area phone number listed and I called for assistance. I learned that they are located in Victor Montana and that they provide quick overnight transport to their facility. What made it even more convenient, they have an arrangement with a local area office where I was able to drop off the drive and personnel in that office handled all the shipping arrangements. Within two days I was notified that they had received my drive and had begun preliminary examination of the drive. On that same day they called to give me the prognosis. Unfortunately in the instance of my drive, the drive was irreparably damaged. I found File Savers service to be exemplary and highly professional.Dec 15, 2015Verified
100% of my data was recovered. The process was quick and I was kept informed as to the progress of the recovery efforts.Aug 17, 2016
I had a drive that lost the logic controller; it was beyond my skill level to retrieve the data on the drive. Within two weeks, I had an external drive in my hands that contained most, if not all, of my data. Good to know that there are other options when good drives go bad...May 19, 2016
I was afraid I had lost 2 1/2 years of photos and files when my external hard drive made a disastrous clicking sound. When I had determined that it was going to need more than a self help fix I searched online for a data recovery company. File Savers Data Recovery's website was easy to use and provided a very clear explanation of the recovery process. I was able to call a local number to discuss my particular situation with a knowledgeable technician who outlined the next step for the possible recovery of my data, which in my case, required a trip to their clean room facilities. Without knowing the extent of the physical damage to the external hard drive I wasn't sure what could be rescued. John Poulsen was very helpful in letting me know how the process was going at each stage, and lucky for me the recovery was a complete success. My data was returned to me on a new external hard drive that I had provided, and all shipping to and from was paid for by File Savers. My recovery process was an expensive one, but File Savers rates are fair and even a little less than other recovery companies. I felt like my precious photos and important data were in good hands, and that all that could be done to recover them was being done. I am glad that my story has a happy ending. Thank you John Poulsen and File Savers! Sincerely, Carolee W.May 3, 2017
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We offer 4 service options depending on the speed you need your data recovered. We typically need to perform a free evaluation of your media device before we can provide you with a firm price. This is because there are several types of media failures that can occur. Consumers who are not in a huge hurry for their data will be looking at between $299 - $999 for drives 1TB or less. Drives needing clean room work will be at the upper end of that range due to the time, equipment, parts and specialized labor required to recover data from such situations.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We provide a basic quote range based on the media type and size. The customer will bring their media device or ship their media device to our lab. We will then perform a free evaluation of their media device. We will call the client and provide them with a firm quote and results of the diagnosis of their failed media device. The client will tell us to do the recovery or not. If they decline service....there is no charge. If the customer moves forward with recovery, we will add their media device to our queue and begin the recovery attempt. We will provide updates throughout the recovery process. When the recovery is finished, we email them an invoice or payment link so the bill can be paid quickly and easily online or they can send a check or bring cash directly to the lab where the recovery has been completed. We will return the data on a brand new media device the customer purchases from us or one they provide to us.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We are certified and trained by the leading data recovery training center in the world . We also perform our own R&D since the hard drive manufacturing industry is changing so rapidly. We are constantly dealing with new hard drive models and changes. We have to reverse engineer the devices to learn to recover the data from them. We also work very closely with two companies that lead our industry in building data recovery equipment and tools so we can be ahead of the data recovery curve which allows us to recover data from hard drives that other companies will simply call unrecoverable.
