“Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds ALL relationships.”
-- Stephen Covey

“He’s Superman.. No. Better yet, Batman. He even has tools my husband doesn’t have. And even uses his tools better than my husband ever could!” - Jackie from Alamo
“Magic man! I needed Charles’ help with a dryer that stopped heating just 30 mins before a guest arrived to check-in one of my Airbnb properties in Berkeley. Somehow he pulled it off!” - Alice from Walnut Creek
“Charles is a true gentlemen. My husband can be so difficult to work with, and always gives contractors and his own employees so much grief. But Charles had such finesse, such patience, and such tact with my husband, it was like nothing I’d ever seen before. He even rescued our super heavy elliptical that slid into the bottom of the 12ft pool all by himself!” - Diane from Danville

Here are 12 policies for success that I practice and adhere to in every home or office, with every customer or client - NO EXCEPTIONS.
1) READY FOR ANYTHING
2) Stay Fit, Stay Focused, Stay Fast
3) Do what I say or die trying
4) Absolute courtesy and respect for you, your family, your pets, your friends, your neighbors, and your property
5) If I can’t do something at 10/10 quality, I will tell you BEFORE I begin
6) PLAN, PLAN, PLAN. DO, DO, DO. Then REVIEW, REVIEW, REVIEW - No matter how many times I’ve done a certain task, or how well I do it
7) No waiting around or wasting time - When I arrive at your home or office, I get right to it
8) CLARITY, CLARITY, CLARITY
9) “It’s like he wasn’t even here.” My talent for cleanliness and order, both enhances AND exceeds my skills as a “handyman”. A serviceman who isn’t clean and orderly from start to finish, lacks the capacity to give the customer a 10/10 experience. And will often leave the customer with work to do, even though the customer paid THEM to do the job!
10) Efficient
11) POSITIVE ATTITUDE
12) Drug-free, Smoke-free
So while my hourly rate as a Pro may be slightly higher than the average handyman, I can tell you with full confidence that my speed is definitely faster than most - and with not 1 degree of quality degradation.
In the beginning, you might pay me a little more, but in the end, hiring me will undoubtedly cost you a lot less.
My ideal client is one that will APPRECIATE my level of commitment to serving the people that pay me (and even the ones that don’t).
The client I want nothing to do with is the one who sees my personality and work ethic as “weakness” and subsequently takes ADVANTAGE of who I am as a serviceman.
If you think we’re an ideal fit - HIRE ME.
I promise, I won’t let you down.
P.S. My 5 Star reviews are sacred for me and my reputation. That’s why if you believe I deserve any less than a 5 Star rating, TELL ME BEFORE YOU REVIEW. And if there is anything at all that you feel I may have mistakenly overlooked, or if I inadvertently left you feeling not 100% great about the work you’ve paid me to do, TELL ME and I WILL MAKE IT RIGHT THE WAY YOU NEED ME TO. I’m very easy to talk to and you will never feel judged by me. You are my CUSTOMER. And I learned early on that the customer is who affords me my lifestyle in this marketplace. So I need to know your happiness and satisfaction is at 5 Stars before I can feel good about the 5 Stars you’ve given me.

•LEGALLY REQUIRED ANNOUNCEMENT•
===================================
PLEASE NOTE: As a Certified Professional Handyman (CPH), I am NOT a licensed-by-the-State contractor. Only contractors (as defined in California building law) are issued licenses by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). And only contractors are required to have them. Which means my tasks are limited by LAW to a quote and collection of $500 USD maximum for labor (plus materials if I’m billing the customer for them) for any SINGLE “home improvement” project. In other words, by LAW, I can quote you a SINGLE “home improvement” job total at an absolute maximum of $500 USD. But there is NO legal limit to what you can hire me to do HOURLY, or the amount of hours I work for you for (I just can’t quote a pre-calculated amount of hours totaling more than $500 USD). There is also NO legal limit to what I can do that is unrelated to “home improvement”. Small to medium, specialized and detail-intensive tasks are what I prefer and excel at anyway. It allows me to keep moving and not get bogged down. It’s also great for YOU because small to medium tasks (even though what most customers need) are not what most licensed contractors excel at (or even want to do), but instead fail at (probably too because they don’t want to do small jobs!). Also, I write contracts with all my clients for every job regardless, so that they aren’t liable for workers compensation insurance, or anything else related to MY work as your Professional Handyman. The only thing you are liable to me for is payment. Everything else, Thumbtack and myself take care of. 😎

What I enjoy most about the work I do is all of the varying challenges I face, in all of the varying experiences I have, with all of the different people I meet.
