About this pro

How does your service stand out?

I am a certified eating behavior coach specializing in eating psychology and mind-body health and nutrition. I help adult men and women who struggle or suffer in their relationship with food, dislike their weight, struggle with body image, binge or overeat, emotionally eat, have fatigue and/or mood issues because of food and lifestyle stress. We work together one-on-one to identify their goals and get really clear about why they seek to make changes. To achieve external changes, it must come from within - the inner work on self (beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviors that follow) is what leads to lasting and the most rewarding results. The personalized coaching sessions I provide clients guides them to methods, practices and habits they can use through all phases of life. It's my mission to help my clients find lasting, sustainable and nourishing solutions to not just improve their health in the areas that cause them suffering, but improve their overall life experience. My own personal food, weight and body acceptance journey make me an ideal coach because I get it; the struggle and mental torment is very real, but you can free yourself from it if you're willing to take consistent action, challenge your core beliefs around food, weight and body, and willing to endure the process of change - which comes with ups and downs. I deeply understand the societal pressure to fit in, the fear of diseases like diabetes, the relationship challenges that occur when you don't feel your best with food-weight-body, the harmful beliefs swirling in your mind every hour of every day, and the nutrition/fitness confusion you have from trying so many methods to fix what's wrong with you and never getting lasting results. It's maddening, demoralizing and makes you want to scream!! There is hope however. I can help you break free from the food and body shame prison that you can't seem to break out of on your own so that you live a more meaningful, happy and healthy life.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

My services are customized and tailored to the individuals to maximize their experience and lead to lasting breakthroughs. I have a very loving and compassionate approach with client, yet direct, cutting through and bringing to light the obstacles and excuses that have left them stuck. I don't subscribe to any one diet or nutrition program. We are all unique and need custom solutions to fit our goals and lifestyles. It's my belief that our food, weight and body image challenges typically stem from lifestyle stress, dysfunctional relationships, sex, financial insecurity, past traumas, lack of quality information leading to massive nutrition and fitness confusion, and our beliefs we were taught when we were young but never questioned upon adulthood. Get to the root of whichever of these (often in combination) and your food, weight and body image acceptance issues ease and resolve themselves and your health automatically improves....mind, body and soul. I have the experience, training and passion to truly help my clients, and it's my mission to teach others how to nourish their mind and body in ways that give them ease with food and fitness, mental serenity (a.k.a. self-acceptance) and acceptance of their body; all of which will lead to a vastly healthier and happier li.

Get off the diet roller-coaster for good!
My association with Rusti Q. has literally changed my life and my weight! I’ve struggled with emotion eating and binge eating for almost 10 years. I’ve tried every diet out there with only temporary successes. Rusti has helped me to find and address the root psychological issues behind these out of control behaviors. My relationship with food and my body image have never been better and I’m down 26 lbs and approaching my goal weight! I am so grateful for Rusti’s specialized knowledge and her spot-on insights and would advise anyone to seek out her services if they really want to get off the diet roller-coaster for good!

    Highly recommend Rusti
Rusti’s coaching services have made a tremendous difference in my life! When I first sought out Rusti’s coaching services, all I was hoping for was the perfect diet plan to help me to lose weight. With Rusti’s guidance, I have created a “perfect” eating plan for me. However, the most surprising part of my journey with Rusti has been the greater understanding of myself and gaining a set of tools to help me on the path of living a healthier more balanced life. Rusti is a very perceptive and knowledgeable coach. She asks good questions, provides insight as well as action steps to try. One of the most helpful aspects of Rusti’s coaching is that after each session she emails me a recap of the session and the action steps I agreed to do. This helps me remember what I agreed to as well as the progress I am making. I highly recommend Rusti as a Health Coach! My work with her has changed my life for the better!

    Regained control of stress
Rusti provided coaching that helped me get work-stress and balance in order (needed for my health goals) - we focused on 'non-negotiable' lists and how to take control of my schedule, my calendar, and work boundaries. It was exactly what I needed!

    Inspired life
My coaching experience with Rusti continues to inspire me to live a more fulfilled life. She has a kind, caring, and peaceful demeanor about her. My coaching time with her always left me feeling encouraged, and excited about taking the next action steps that were important to my life. My coaching sessions were always sincere, honest, and insightful. Rusti is more than a coach, she is a friend.

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a 20-minute free consult to new clients; this allows new clients the opportunity to speak with me by phone or Skype and determine if my coaching services are a good fit before scheduling their first coaching experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have extensive real life experience battling and healing my own relationship with food, weight and body image. Additionally I have studied nutrition and am certified in Eating Psychology Coaching.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I have per session pay-as-you-go rates and also offer discounted package pricing.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My personal journey with battling, struggling and being angry at myself and the confusing and conflicting health and nutrition advice ultimately led me to seek out what's really at the core of wanting to have better health and a fulfilling life. I was never going to find that in the number on the scale (it just reinforced that love is conditional), not in being restrictive and punishing in my food and fitness (just taught me how to punish myself and fuel my negative self talk), or thing I could figure this all out on my own by reading endless self-help books - I needed help and found it in coaching. So now i want to pay-it-forward and help others improve their health and quality of life.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with adult men and women who want to improve their relationship with food, weight and/or body image. Most clients fall into one or more of these categories: 1. Overeating or binge eating issues 2. Chronic / Yo-Yo Dieters 3. Weight is problematic (wanting to lose, gain or maintain/stabilize) 4. Nutrition confusion and/or frustration of not knowing what to eat to be healthy 5. Fatigue and stamina is a problem 6. Frequent or common digestive and/or food sensitivity complaints 7. Food addiction 8. Stressed out - leading to numbed out / unwanted eating habits 9. Dislike/hate their body; suffer low self-esteem 10. Food related mood issues 11. Post gastric bypass or lap-band patients struggling to maintain food habits 12. Counting and measuring food is controlling their life and causing mental suffering
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I partnered with a fitness gym who understands how damaging and temporary dieting is on a person's health; we offer my signature program Freedom From Diet Hell once a year (8-week program) to help those wanting to get more physically fit and improve their food habits to find the lasting results they're really looking for - that is, better health and a better quality of life.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would take advantage of the free 20-minute phone consult, or simply shedule an initial session. There's no obligation to continue coaching with me, but I'm confident that if you've been following traditional nutrition and fitness advice and programs and not seeing lasting results, then Eating Behavior Coaching using eating psychology and mind-body nutrition principles will open your mind up in ways you never thought possible. You have the opportunity to experience freedom with food, improve your relationship with weight and body-image and create the life you've always craved. Eating Behavior Coaching is truly that powerful and sustainable.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Am I open and willing to trying something new, cutting edge, yet non-traditional? What type of food/fitness programs have I tried in the past and why do I think they didn't work (or didn't last)?
