Introduction: We Specialize in storm damage caused by hail and wind. We have a BBB A+ rating. We are a certified contractor with three of the major shingle manufacturers. We are also fully insured with liability and workers comp. Working with and assisting homeowners in accessing weather related damage and helping them through the insurance claims process is very gratifying. Then to handle all of the construction required to return their homes to the condition they were prior to the storm damage in a timely manner is what we enjoy most.

We had two houses in Lakewood that received hail damage a year ago and qualified for two new roofs. I did not look forward to interviewing 3 companies and dealing with the details, especially during a sellers market and also I am 78 years old. To make matters worse one of the roofs had some asbestos in the roof tiles and had to be removed with special clothing and equipment, and another contractor. Dave Schimmelfeder came by and said his company, Smart Roofing, would do the job for the estimate the insurance company came up with and no more. I was very skeptical but this warranted was in the contract and Dave was easy to work with so we went with them. Beside not having to do the work I found Dave to be very through and uncovered extra work needed to bring the house (1930s) up to code. We now have both houses with 50 year roofs. Dave was very helpful and would stay in contact at all stages. The insurance agent was very happy to work with an established roofing company. An welcome surprise not having to do with Smart Roofing was the insurance premiums saved $150 per month with the upgraded roofs, enough to pay off the deduction in 18 months. Don't forget to ask the insurance company if the roof will affect the premiums. The bottom line is I whole heatedly recommend Smart Roofing company and Dave.

Smart Roofing put a new roof on my house, garage, and chicken coup . We then had hard rain for several days and the chicken coup started to leak, Dave sent someone out within hours after I called to add more shingles to the coup which match the house perfectly . Couldn’t ask for more attentive folks . Very friendly and delightful to work with . Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great customer service and wonderful workmanship .

I was impressed how fast the process from estimate to getting the roof installed was, I thought I would have to wait three or so weeks to get the new roof, but they started within two weeks and only took one day to finish the job. They worked hard to make sure we were happy. I would definitely recommend smart roofing.

We are insurance claims specialist that return homes back to their original condition by using only the insurance proceeds. We offer a senior and a military discounts.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We do a thorough inspection of the homeowners property starting at the roof and then working our way around each side of the home to see if there is the possibility that they have insurable damage. If there is we help them through the insurance claims process.
