Back on Track Coaching and Counseling

About this pro

"He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight"- Sun Tzu When egos are hurt and we feel attacked by those around us, it is almost always a natural response to attack back. We say things we wish we could later retract and spend much time on beating ourselves up. It becomes then a pattern of behavior and communication that only leads to more disagreements and arguments, and less time thinking things through. I offer coaching and counseling services. At this time however, I am not accepting therapy clients. I currently specialize in life coaching with a specialization in effective communication, self-improvement and identifying personality types. More so, because we spend so much time at work, learning how to build productive team work is crucial. Last, wherever you are in life, a career change or just trying to find your first career may be at the top of your list. That is why Back on Track offers Myers Briggs Type Indicator personality assessment and workshop, career assessment and work shop and DISC for business. With an emphasis in helping to build communication and career changes, these services may be just what your looking for. Not interested in workshops? That's quite alright because individual sessions are also available. Over the years I have listened to clients say if he or she would just talk to me and listen to me, I think we would be okay. The goal of my coaching is individual based to help you identify positive and healthy changes in identifying your main approach such as aggressive, passive aggressive, assertive, or passive. As the sessions continue, we work on ideas and activities geared towards more effective ways of getting points across and being heard by those around you. Everything. It is a reward in and of itself to see the smiles on the faces those who have identified positive and healthy changes in themselves first, then in their relationships. There is a realization that we are capable of taking a situation and making it more productive and enjoyable just by the choices we make as we think things through before we react on impulsivity and defense mechanisms.

    Q & A

    • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Coaching is offered at a price of $110 an hour because of the certification and my professional background in helping people work on self-improvement first. I feel confident that the services I offer can lead to effective, healthy, and productive changes in communication. I also feel I am able to help others identify areas of challenges that can be enhanced into strengths both internally and externally. Additionally, because I am a strengths-based coach, I am able to help clients to continue building on those strengths. Though my practice has only been in place for three years, I have worked with many along the way in other professional settings that have helped me to understand and recognize self-defeating thoughts, and lack of communication skills that impact relationships at work and home.
    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a one time free consultation which includes how sessions will go in the future, the fees involved, the roles of the coach and the client, and a brief laser session. A laser session allows the client to present a situation that they are working on improving, and then allows me to give them insight through motivational interviewing and other techniques that allow them to assess their situations from a different mind set perspective.
    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am coach training alliance certified coach, a certified DISC administrator (for businesses or individuals looking to identify how their personality styles affect their communication at work), and I am a registered psychotherapist. I am currently nearing approval in domestic violence facilitation, and licensure in addictions. Additionally, I have a master's in Forensic Psychology and I am a third year PhD student in Clinical Psychology.
