I hired Stella because of her great reviews. I came with my daughter and she was very patient, very attentive and super nice! We are looking forward to our next appointment!!Apr 24, 2018Verified
Stella is a great piano teacher. She is very friendly but also very professional in her teaching. She makes her lessons interesting especially to young students. My daughter is always looking forward to her piano lessons with Stella.Nov 18, 2017Verified
Amazing teacher and very patient and willing to work with you to do your best.Aug 22, 2017Verified
It's not easy to find the right piano teacher. Some teachers don't have enough skills to teach, some with the skills but don't know how to teach. Stella put together in the right combination. I just started having my piano lessons with Stella and it has been a positive experience. Stella is very attentive and able to point out some problem areas with suggestions. She is also very flexible on schedule, which is a must for adult learners. I plan to continue having lessons with her and looking forward to it. :)Jul 25, 2017Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My hourly rate is $60 with weekly one-hour lessons, though some students (especially younger children) have 30-45 minute lessons in order to accommodate shorter attention spans. Students can choose to pay with cash or check for the coming month in advance. A discount is available for UC Berkeley and other college students with proof of current enrollment. Cancellation policy: Cancellations more than 24 hours in advance will be rescheduled as soon as possible within the same month. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson (except for emergency reasons) will incur a cancellation fee and will be rescheduled as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Depending on my student's background, I use the beginning of the lesson to get a sense of how advanced my student is in terms of musical education. If he/she has had prior piano instruction, I ask my student to perform a few pieces in order for me to see the current skill level, such as hand positioning, wrist flexibility, form, finger precision and strength, etc.
