FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It really depends on the work: the greater the risk: roofs and ladders the greater should be the compensation. The same is true, one should be paid more for electrical or plumbing work than for drywall touch up. I have had a great problem with contractors charging too much and not delivering to their customers: this really bothers me. $245.00 labor per day is my ideal scenario.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Try to get a full understanding of what the customer wants. I will give recommendations on how best to achieve those desires. I like offering a different point of view giving the customer other "angles" -perhaps they never thought about concerning the project, however ultimately I'll go with their requests.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
1) To start with I was trained in mechanics: in the Army & worked on flight crews: so I understand most aspects of how things are put together & how best to install. 2) I was a professional roofer for 5 years, then was on crews building houses for years. 3) I was involved in apartment renovations for 7 years, so I understand finish work of all types: drywall, painting electrical, plumbing. 4) I was a cabinet designer for 3 years and installer for about 5 years. 5) I worked in a mill shop for a year building countertops & the like.
