FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. All my quotes related to piano moving are based on time, distance to and from all locations, number of steps inside or out, size of piano (sometimes larger than average pianos require extra manpower) and fuel. Please note that sometimes by coincidence, if we have two or more inquiries within relatively the same area, and requested time frames, I will work up a special "share the ride" quote for everyone who can be flexible enough to make it work. When a tuning is included the same day of move, a 10% discount is applied to the entire job. Please note, we no longer move pianos "UP" full flights of stairs, however anything we can accomplish with assistance of a 8 foot long and 3 foot wide ramp which we always carry is a possibility. I accept cash, personal & business checks and cards through my “square” app. However, there is a 3% upcharge on card payments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This type of service is most efficiently accomplished by a simple phone call to my cell. In less than 5 minutes we can exchange all the details necessary to put together a reasonable quote. The things I need to know are the piano type (upright or grand), height or length, number of steps in or out of each location and the addresses for pick up and delivery. I will also advise them to read my reviews and know that there is certainly no obligation to sort out the whole process quickly - then decide if we are a good fit.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Though I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bloomsburg University (73), my training began in 1974 when I purchased my first baby grand piano and decided I wanted to learn everything I possibly could about caring for, servicing, and moving my piano, as it was on the road with me from the get go. I was apprenticed by two gentlemen whose combined experience totaled over 80 years. Now in my 44th year and delivering 5-star service, I certainly feel confident in all that I do.
