Specific behaviors to address
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have owned dogs my entire life and worked with animals for more than a decade as a sitter, vet tech, behaviorist and a rescue volunteer. Caring for pets, from new borns to special needs seniors, and helping people and their pets learn to communicate better is my passion and in everything I do my focus is always on the pets and their individual needs because in the end no two are the same. After managing a busy, large volume pet boarding facility for many years I found myself wanting to slow down and provide pet parents a more tailored service where I have the time to care for your family member exactly as I would my own pets. Similarly I tailor training according to the needs of each pet and family instead of following a rigid curriculum. Case by case I also accept grooming clients but only for pets that need basic grooms and cannot, for whatever reason, go to a professional salon. I do not do one time grooms but instead will work with you and your pet to establish trust and achieve a stress free, regular schedule for your pets grooming needs. I treat all my customers and their pets like family. I have a particular fondness for special needs pets and I provide pet sitting in my quiet, adult only home so your cat or dog does not languish alone in a kennel but instead gets to enjoy their vacation as part of my family. I will consider coming to stay in your home case by case but mainly I provide sitting in my home and only one pet (or family) at a time. When it comes to training I can certainly teach basic obedience and fun tricks but my main focus is in helping people fix existing behavioral issues and live more harmoniously with their pet. Most unwanted behaviors stem from well meaning owners who simply don't know how to communicate with their pets. I do not use or condone the use of forceful methods in training but instead I willhelp you focus on the bigger picture and how only changing your outlook can your dog relax and change. Life with pets should always be pleasant and fulfilling for us as well as our pets instead of stressful chaos. Additionally I also offer grooming but only for pets that for any reason cannot go to a professional salon. If your pet is traumatized or has health issues that prevent professional grooming I may be able to help. I offer basic baths, hair cuts and nail care as well as ear cleaning and home maintenance advice.

Anniina uses an easy to understand method of dog training, breaking down behavioral concepts to apply to both dogs and humans - after all, we humans are the ones who are really in need of training! Anniina has years of experience and can assess all different types of situations within the first training session. More importantly, she delivers training with so much compassion for the families she works with: She makes herself available for follow-up questions and concerns and always uses encouragement and reinforcement for all involved. I highly recommend Anniina Jones to anyone in need of training for their furbabies.

I have a 3 year old rescued Border Collie named Sadie Mae who is severely OCD, unfortunately for her, for me, my back yard, my carpet and so on. To say Sadie is destructive was an understatement, notice I say "was". Anniina has trained me to understand Sadie's issues and how to handle them, she is awesome! I was ready to give up on my dog and turn her back into the rescue organization I got her from. That is no longer the case Sadie are still a work in progress but she is so much happier, calmer and much easier to be with. If you are reading this review you are obviously motivated to have someone help you with a dog that has issues. Just contact Anniina she is just wonderful with humans as well as canines, she is very kind and gentle but has the confidence, knowledge and authority that encourages respect. You will know from the start that Anniina's skill sets are amazing, her rates are very reasonable, she is dependable and doesn't try and put you into a prolonged behavioral correction program. Anniina is always available by email, text or phone. I have contacted her many times and I always receive a response. Sadie Mae and I are nearing an end to her program and I will keep in contact and have an occasional "tune up" session with Anniina if need be. Not only has she helped us immensely I have made a new friend.

I had been given Anniina's name by a friend of mine whom I volunteer with at a local dog rescue, for animal behaviorism. My husband and I had just adopted a 5 year old male Maine Coon cat, Muskat. We presently have 2 German Shepherd dogs and 1 domestic cat, Oreo. I have been around animals all my life and feel very comfortable with dog behavior and introducing dogs to cats. However, I have never had 2 cats before, and Oreo had been a rescue cat when she was 10 weeks old and has always been an ONLY cat (she is now 14 years old). Needless to say, the cat intro did not go well. It was clear that Muskat had been around other cats, but Oreo was not having any of it. So, that's when I reached out to Anniina. Anniina was very honest from the beginning, admitting that she's never been asked to come to help out with cats (more specifically she works with dogs), but assured us that she has ample experience with cats. Anniina was so professional, flexible and forthright. She came to our home and was able to offer suggestions and put our minds at ease, that eventually, Oreo and Muskat will likely be able to reside in the same home, without any major fights. She gave suggestions and advice that was very clear cut. We followed all of her advice, and we can happily say that in less than two months we are now all happily co-existing (only an occasional hiss from Miss Oreo). Anniina has stayed available via text and I have reached out to her several times after her first visit. She's always responsive and never blew me off. I would HIGHLY recommend Anniina to anyone who has behavior problems with both dogs and cats!!

I am a second grade teacher and have a black lab/border collie named Buddy. He is a therapy dog and comes to school with me every Friday. I had an upcoming surgery and needed someone who is responsible and caring to walk Buddy a few days a week. It was extremely important to me that the person I chose was knowledgeable, trust worthy, and had a natural loving response towards dogs. Anniina came to my school during carreer week and talked to my class about her profession as a dog behaviorist. The children loved her and asked tons of questions. She was so patient with them and I could tell she truly enjoyed her time in my classroom. After her visit to my classroom we talked a few more times and she came to my house for a visit. Buddy liked her right away. She has now been walking him for a few weeks and Buddy gets very excited when I tell him she is coming to take him to the park. If you are looking for someone that you can count on to take extremely good care of your beloved dog, someone who puts safety first, and someone who genuinely loves animals then I highly recommend Anniina Jones.
