Introduction: Over 20 years of experience in working with students 6 months to adults and hands on experience in working with the Autism population. My philosophy is that swimming is for everyone. Saving life's one student at a time. The amazing challenge of partnering with each student and playing a role as the reach their goals in the water. The flexible schedule offered to meet the need of the student to make their learning to swim a positive experience. Seeing each student reach their fullest potential in the water is my greatest reward.

Learn to swim with Maria! I have always had a fear of drowning and a fear of deep water. After taking a class with her I became a bit more open to learning how to navigate the deep end. She makes learning to swim fun and possible.

Not enough space to talk about Maria.. I decided to take swimming classes at 36 because every time my kids wanted to play with me in water I couldn't do it because I was afraid I would drown of course. Maria put me at EASE with the water. Honestly I don't know how she did it but before I knew it, I went from not wanting to get in the water to swimming non stop the length of an Olympic pool in 3 months..She is sweet, patient, and a wonderful listener. She does ignore your fears but help you face them and win them over.. I think what I love the most is the fact that she doesn't give up and is always pushing you one step forward... An amazing teacher.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A phone conversation is the first step, then set up a schedule to begin the lessons after answering any and all questions the new customer may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and a YMCA Instructor and Trainer.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started 24 years ago after becoming a Lifeguard and Swimming and playing WaterPolo in middle and high school. My trainer suggested I take the Water Safety Instructor class because she sow something special in me when I was in the water.
