FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My current pricing low to mid-ranged. Prices may go up depending on travel or whether I need a second photographer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With new customers, I like to get things going via email, and encourage the client to do research on what kind of photos they'd like (using Pinterest/Google/Instagram). After agreeing to some basic terms via email, I prefer to chat over the phone just to make sure we are clear on how things will go on the day of the photoshoot. If the new client prefers, we can have an in-person or Google Hangouts/Apple Facetime chat. After that, it's a matter of meeting on the day of the photoshoot, taking photos, and then I go home to edit photos. I tend to have a quick turn around on editing, so I like to get them to the client within 1-2 weeks.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My husband and I have traveled a lot since getting married, and when we learned we were going to spend a month in Prague, Czech Republic, we decided that the best way to preserve our experience was through serious photography. I had been working with a small handheld camera and received a lot of praise over the years. We invested in the most basic DSLR camera, and I practiced for months before we wound up in Europe. I still consider many of those photos some of my favorites. It's been six years since then, and multiple people have approached me to take their engagement and wedding photos. As a result of their encouragement, I began my photography business in earnest.
