Desert Jewelry School

Introduction: We are the only business with a full metal shop teaching basic jewelry making skills within a 150 mile radius. We specialize in teaching beginning jewelry students and our maximum class size is 3. Our curriculum starts students with small torches and uses repitition to teach soldering, sawing and bezel setting stones. Each class results in a very nice piece of silver jewelry. All tools and supplies are provided by the school. We also offer classes to students who may only want a single class to make a basic piece of jewelry. Friends often book a class like this for the day as a group. Such classes include making bangle bracelets and stacking rings with small stones. We have a Very patient and supportive instructor who can easily provide modifications to the curriculum to accommodate both seniors and younger students. We also offer “shop time” which allows our students and screened others to have access to the shop and all tools and supplies, except stones and metal. shop time is offered in 4 hours blocks for $25/block. This is ideal for snowbirds and others who may know how to make jewelry but don’t have the tools or space to enjoy their hobby. I like to create but my real joy comes from seeing students “get it” and hearing their comments such as “I can’t believe I made this” or “I didn’t think I could do that.” My satisfaction comes from seeing them succeed and be amazed at their own hidden talents.
