FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have several ways that I use to price a job. One way is to price time and materials and another is to price per square foot. linear foot when applicable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out a customer's taste first. It is helpful to know what style my customer is interested in. I also may want to discuss the types of materials to be installed as they may dictate preparation. Time frames and scheduling are usually the next step in my process. Next is layout and design then finally if not discussed at any point in between I will determine a total price.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
i left high school at 15 to help my mother support my brothers and I. My step father introduced me to a tile man whom i still speak with to this day and told him to work me till i wanted to go back to school. Needless to say that never happened. I found that even though it was hard work I had a knack for it and a natural Talent. I quickly progressed in the trade and learned many other aspects of the flooring industry along the way.
