Service type
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Outstanding customer service and compassionate advocacy. I offer several services in family law: contested cases, uncontested cases, and document preparation assistance. Contested cases have a typical retainer of $2,000 but can cost more than that depending on the complexity level. Uncontested cases have a retainer of $1,000 or more depending on the issues involved. I will also assist in preparing documents for those who can't afford an attorney or would prefer to represent themselves. Costs for that service range from $200-$1000 depending on how many documents need to be completed and how complex they are. I try to offer a service that will work for everyone regardless of their income level. Payment plans are sometimes available if you will consent to an automatic charge program. If you are interested in a consultation, and mention Thumbtack, I will waive my typical consultation fee. Consultations can be scheduled online by clicking "Schedule Now" on my website and selecting "New Client".

Kristen is very professional but personable. Laid out all of my options and advised on my best course of action. Would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I do offer discounts for military and veterans. I will waive my initial consultation fees for thumbtack customers. I do sometimes allow payment plans if the client will agree to an automatic debit program. Family law cases vary in cost a great deal. The more both sides agree upon the less expensive it will be. I have finished a divorce case for $750 and I have had one be as expensive as $20,000. The important thing is to be reasonable and rely on my advice as to what the Judge would be likely to do.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will meet with the client for an hour-long consultation. I will send you an intake form prior to the appointment and have you bring it to the consultation. We will review the law relevant to your case as well as the court process. If you want to proceed with me as your attorney we can start the case as soon as you would like.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am admitted and in good standing with the Kansas Bar and the Missouri Bar. I have training as a Guardian ad Litem and as a family law mediator. I have been practicing in family law for six years. I am also a child of a blended family so I have personal experience with family law matters.
