- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In a real estate transaction, typically the seller of the property will pay the commission of both the listing agent and the buyer's agent. Real estate services pricing is not set in stone, it is negotiated between the seller and the listing agent at the time the listing contract is signed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process will vary greatly depending on if it is a client looking to sell their home or a buyer looking to purchase a home. The first step for both types of clients will be an in-person meeting. The meetings first and foremost serve as an information exchange between myself and the client. For a seller client, this information exchange starts with a presentation. The presentation serves as a personal introduction and a pitch as to how I may best assist them in selling their home. It typically ends with a tour of the property and discussions regarding pricing the home. For a buyer client, this meeting is much more informal. The goal is to find out the specifics of the type of property the buyer is looking for i.e price, location, bedrooms, bathrooms etc. I will then set up the automatic property search through our local MLS to notify the buyer when a property matching their criteria enters the market. We check the MLS for any ideal properties already on the market and set up showings immediately. I usually finish the meeting by discussing financing options and working to assist a buyer in locating a lender if they do not already have one.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a bachelors degree in Communications from the Univerisity of Kentucky. After graduating from the University of Kentucky I worked 11 years handling insurance claims. During that time, I learned what a difference excellent customer service during a high-stress life event can make. I strive to take the hassle and anxiety out of the home buying or selling process for my clients.
