About this pro
We found K9 Tutoring on Thumbtack for our dog, Bubba. He was a 7 month old Goldendoodle at the time, with a lot of great energy and a stubborn personality to train! We had read good reviews and watched the training videos and decided to reach out to Scott. From the beginning he was very attentive and helpful. In talking with him, we learned that he is very knowledgeable about dogs, their habits, and positive ways to train them- which is exactly what my fiance and I were looking for. He provided a few training options and we chose to have him stay with Scott and his family for 7 days. We wanted Bubba immersed in the environment we wanted to create and then translate that once he came home. We were nervous to drop him off, but they made it very easy because we knew he was in great hands! They sent us pictures of Bubba hanging out with his family and videos of him training throughout the week, which we both throughly enjoyed! Not only was Bubba very happy, but he was learning! We showed our family members and friends the videos and they were all very impressed! When we picked Bubba up, he truly was a different dog. Since his week stay, he has stopped jumping on counters and people. His loud bark when we are out for walks has become more controlled, and he is learning to control his excitement. The training doesn't end once the week is over, however Scott provided us with the tools to train him confidently. We are so pleased with the progress he is continuing to make and would refer K9 Tutoring to anyone! Thank you, K9 Tutoring!May 8, 2018Verified
We took our 2 1/2 year old Brittany Spaniel, Stanley, to get off-leash training with Scott, and we could not be more impressed! Stanley is listening and doing so well off-leash, his leash walking is improved, and Scott has given us confidence to allow Stanley off the leash. Stanley is an easily distracted dog that’s bred for hunting. We were nervous that he wouldn’t listen when he was in a large, unfenced field. Scott taught Stanley to sit and stay - Stanley will hold his sit for over 100 yards. He also runs back to us When we call his name almost immediately. Scott is a thoughtful, caring and a responsive trainer and we would highly recommend him!Mar 18, 2018VerifiedScott J.'s reply
Thanks so much! Stan the dog did great. Having a off leash dog is just so much more fun and enjoyable not only for the dog but also for yourself. I truly wish all dogs received the proper training like yours because it's just that much more fun. I am always here if you have any questions.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing is a simple pay by session plan. You can purchase as little as one session or many for a lower price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First session is the foundation of all training. With out this you will never get full potential out of your dog.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Most of my training is hands on and research & observation of other trainers. I truly believe that everything I have really learned is from other trainers & hands on experience.
