Lisa Smith is an amazing soul. She has the ability to be firm, both with parents and kids, while still having a huge heart and creating a space where all parties feel heard. We initially called upon her services when our teen son had been engaging in risky phone behavior, becoming the victim of "catfishing" while also creating chaos and tension at home. She endured his anger and (initially) uncooperative behavior during the first few sessions with professionalism and patience. Within a month the family atmosphere was improving due to changes she guided us through. Within 3 months, our son's grades were improving, he was starting to engage with his parents and siblings in positive ways, and his social life was healthier. I honestly don't know what his life would be like today if Lisa hadn't intervened. When our adult daughter started neglecting the self-care required by her Type 1 diabetes, we knew exactly who to call. Lisa was able to help my daughter peel back the layers of hurt and fear caused by a lifetime spent with a chronic illness, and a dysfunctional relationship. In time, my daughter made huge strides in her personal life goals, and to this day is taking her health seriously, with love for herself. In both cases, Lisa helped me as a mom know how best to support my children, knowing when to help and when to hold back to let them find their own way. I will always be in her debt for helping our family when we got in over our heads.

Lisa was God sent to us, we were dealing with a lot of issues with our teen . Our relationship as a couple was being effected not to mention the stress that each one of us were going through . What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First and foremost my passion is to help you and your family, give you the immediate support and tools you need to address challenges and move in to a healthy future. My price varies on your location since I travel to your home. Depending on the distance I can offer a 60-90 minute session and adjust fees accordingly. I'm happy to discuss all of this further on the phone and answer any questions you may have.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The most important dynamic in this process is the one between myself and the client. There has to be a good fit. With this said, I spend time learning about their story and the struggles they and their family are facing. This is done over the phone. If we both decide that we want to move forward we schedule and appointment for me to go to the home and we get right to work by laying out a specific plan tailored to their specific needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Along with a Masters degrees in Counseling and Psychology along with a counseling credential, administrative services credential and a certificate in professional life coaching I have two decades of experience working with families and have completed over 2,000 home visits. But beyond all of this, I have an unwavering passion and commitment to empower families navigate the struggles and challenges they are facing.
