FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each therapist charges a session fee based on their experience and training. Licensed therapists typically charge more than interns. Session fees at our clinic vary from $60-150/session for individual work depending on the clinician. Some of our clinicians offer special rates for students, seniors, and those experiencing temporary financial hardship. Group sessions range from $10-$20 per session. We do not accept insurance at this time (11.3.15) but hope to be able to offer services for insurance reimbursement in the future. We do not want the fee to be the reason people don't get help, so contact us if you can't afford the fee and we will provide referrals to low-cost counseling elsewhere.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Therapy is a very personal experience so its important that new clients feel comfortable and get the right service to match their needs. New clients can call to get a brief evaluation via phone of their needs and expectations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our therapists have Master's degrees from marriage and family therapy training programs. In addition Licensed therapists have at least 3000 hours of supervised experience and have passed 2 state licensing exams. Many of our therapists also have additional certifications in specific evidenced-based practices such as Positive Parenting Program, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (a treatment for children exposed to trauma), Seeking Safety (trauma & substance use treatment for teens and adults), Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP; a treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma and disruptive behavior in children and young adults), and Crisis-Oriented Recovery Services (a short-term treatment model for individuals exposed to a crisis).
