Irene Kim Pianist

Introduction: As a versatile pianist, Irene performs with chamber ensembles, orchestras, and as a soloist in recitals and in collaboration with film, dance, and interactive visual arts across the globe. Irene graduated from Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University with a doctorate in piano performance, and has been teaching for over fifteen years. She has experience teaching pianists as young as four years old as well as college and graduate students. Irene's individualized lessons focus on technique and artistry through critical thinking, problem-solving, and active curiosity. She works with each student to determine short-term and long-term goals, providing a customized approach to ensure maximum progress. First and foremost, teaching piano is about empowering the student with not only the ability to express oneself through music, but also skills that can be applied to every part of life. As a pianist, Irene loves connecting with people through the power and beauty of music. She enjoys both the solitude of playing a solo recital as well as collaborating with other musicians, visual artists, and dancers.
