FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been studying Spanish my whole life, but officially I have a degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Rochester. I also have a Spanish Teaching Certification from the Instituto de Cervantes in Madrid, Spain. I studied abroad in Ecuador, and I've traveled to Peru, Costa Rica, and most recently Cuba. I taught English in Madrid, Spain for two years, and I've lived about a total of 3 years there. I'll be starting my masters degree in Spanish in July through Middlebury College. Outside of academia, I spend a lot of time staying current on popular culture throughout the Spanish speaking world. I listen to Spanish music, I watch television shows from a variety of countries so that I can really maintain a broad fluency of the language, and I of course keep in touch with friends that I've made from living and traveling around the Spanish speaking world!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with customers from 5 years to 65 years of age. Everyone learns in a different way, and that's what makes teaching a language so exciting for me. I've worked with people who want to pass an official exam, who want to build their resume and prepare for an interview, and with people who are just looking for a new hobby and think that learning a language is fun!
