Introduction: I’ve been tutoring students for more than 5 years now. As an undergraduate student studying Chemical Engineering, from my first steps on campus all the way until graduation I was helping students learn the ins and outs of math and chemistry. I ended up managing the tutoring program I worked for on campus, and was able to acquire funds to get our own space, computers, a printer, and everything to allow the student to succeed. I hope to bring this type of enthusiasm for learning to students here in Los Angeles. Students are the future. Helping kids realize their full potential and love for the maths and sciences will not only help them be better students, but it helps the world in the long run. These are the future scientists and engineers, and I aim to help them reach their goals.

I’m a single working mother with four boys ranging from ages 6 to 15 and their names are Gregory, Paul, Stephen, and Henry. School comes easy to Gregory because he is the oldest, and Paul and Henry are very close so they like to help each other with their schoolwork, but recently Stephen has been falling behind in his classes and when I ask Gregory if he knew what was wrong he said that Paul and Henry had begun making fun of Stephen for a girl he likes. Now I’m not one to pry into my children’s private lives so I decided to let The boys handle this issue on their own. They didn’t and Stephen’s grades are still suffering so I sat him down and asked him what’s wrong for myself. He said that it wasn’t actually Paul and Stephen who were bothering and that he didn’t know why Gregory said that, but that actually he just wasn’t interested in learning any more. I said if you don’t want to go to college we can talk about that later because my friend Susanne says it is more common today for recent high school grads to take “gap years” in order to better discern what they want to do with their lives before jumping into tons of student loans and debt. I think this is smart but I still want Stephen to continue working hard on school so I hired Mr. Mohammed to tutor my son in math. He is a nice young man and Stephen is much happier now. Thanks, Mr. Mohammed!

Abdullah is an excellent tutor. He helped me learn calculus and is one of the main reasons I graduated with an engineering degree. I would highly recommend him. He is extremely patient and dedicated to helping his students learn the material.

I really enjoyed getting help from Abdullah in my calculus and chemistry classes. He always had a positive attitude while working with me and would never give up until I completely understood the material. I could always count on Abdullah to be available when I needed him and he could help me through homework sets and exam prep. It was through Abdullah’s assistance that I was able to succeed in both of these courses!

I had taken Organic Chemistry last summer and I found Abdullah through my school. Abdullah made topics very relatable and was able to fine tune exactly what I needed to learn after he assessed some of my gaps in the course. I ended up with a 4.0 because of our weekly meetings and am thankful he took the time to break down topics I didn't understand.
