FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm a mother of four who's moved multiple times, both locally and long distance. I used to run two of my own businesses and I've authored two books. We moved to Colorado five years ago and I decided to stop working to help my children transition to our new life here. After renting two homes, we finally moved into a house we own. I became an expert at sorting, clearing, decluttering, packing, unpacking, and quickly making a new empty structure feel like home to all of us. After so many moves over the years, I learned to weed out the unnecessary, unloved, and superfluous "stuff" from our home. Leaving only our most important and best loved possessions to fully enjoy, with nothing unwanted or unnecessary in the way. Friends started asking for my help and I was happy to share what I know. The change people experience when they lighten the burden of clutter and choose to keep only the most vital and treasured pieces they own is magical! Suddenly their to-do lists are shorter and the endless shifting around of "stuff" in the basement or garage comes to an end. Everyone breathes easier with fewer obstacles and more space to enjoy what's important - living happily in your own home! Keeping my own home clean and clutter-free has made an enormous difference in my life and in the lives of my children. After learning how to apply my own methods to friends and their homes, I became more fascinated by the process and it's impact. I've studied and read books and countless articles about cleaning, organizing, decluttering, moving, decorating, home improvement, and all kinds of home care. I've worked with different types of clients and throughly enjoy my work, whether it's a weekly cleaning job or a month long overhaul. It gives me great pleasure to offer my expertise and help others reap the benefits of cleaning up and clearing out. I'm proud of the work that I do and truly enjoy helping others live happier lives.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly work with women and families, but I'm open to working with others.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently helped a family of five downsize and prepare for a move from a 6000sf, six bedroom house in Colorado to a 1500sf apartment in Manhattan, where my client's husband had already transferred for a new job. I worked closely with the client and discussed in detail her goals. Over a two-week period, we went through the house, room by room, and cleared out anything that no longer served a purpose or brought joy to the family. I helped discard, donate, and sell many items for them and coached a very busy, very stressed mom of three girls through the whole process. Her daughters were very anxious and we worked together to reassure them and even get them excited about their new life in New York City. Once everything was cleared out, the remaining personal items, clothing, electronics, art, and furniture were all necessary and loved. I packed them with care and catalogued every box, labeling not only its destination, but also the entire contents, making it much easier to unpack into the new home and also access belongings that would be kept in storage. I cleaned the house afterward and groomed the lawn and backyard. I even met the new renters and helped ease the transition for everyone. When the movers arrived, there were three distinct bays, filled with labeled boxes all ready to go to their destinations. The movers told my client that it was the "best organized move they'd ever seen." I'm still in touch with the family and am even connected with the three daughters on instgram. This was such a rewarding job because I helped a nervous, overwhelmed - and separated - family relieve themselves of clutter and weight, pack only their most important belongings, manage a difficult transition with clarity and intention, and head off to their new beginning. Making a home feel like it should - safe, happy, clean and clear - is my priority. A happy home makes living a happy life a pleasure achieved with ease.
