FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price on a per project basis. Every project is different. The size of a piece, the condition, the style, the type of refinishing, etc., will effect the price. Also, depending on the project, sometimes the cost of supplies is included and sometimes the customer will need to pay a small additional fee. As of now, the cost of pickup and delivery is included depending on the size and quantity of the pieces. I prefer half of the payment up front and the other half upon completion, for everyone's piece of mind.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to ask a lot of questions about the specifics of the project and make sure everyone is on the same page with the desired outcome. We discuss a final price that everyone is happy with, then it's on to the work. I encourage any communication that is desired throughout the process and I like to give periodic progress reports as the stages unfold. Delivery or pickup is open to discussion.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My grandfather refinished and repaired furniture his entire life, and my father has been refinishing, repairing, and building furniture for his entire life. I have been helping since I was able to, and doing my own work over the years. Once upon a time, and ever since, I considered becoming a carpenter, but life lead me in other directions. I thoroughly enjoy the satisfaction that comes with restoring what was once a visually and functionally desirable piece to its former glory.
