Introduction: Hi, my name is Sara "Coach" Lasker, and I have been a PWD T1D for 34 years. I am a MEd, MCHES, RMA, CDE. The first fortune cookie I ever had said "Life is a bold and Daring Adventure" and since then it has been my life motto. I was diagnosed on May 28, 1983. Through the rollercoaster of life diabetes has not slowed me down: I have been to all 50 states, lived overseas, run several half marathons each year, and volunteer at events for people who live with Type 1 Diabetes. Life with Diabetes can be hard! I have paid way too much money for insulin, been in a car accident from a low, and lost pieces of my memory from an anoxic event related to a seizure. But through it all, family, friends, pets, and finding the positive have helped me to live a happy, healthy life. You have your medical team to help with the clinical side of diabetes I am here to give you Occupational, Social, Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Emotional, and Environmental resources to make it through your day. I love to help people feel connected and successful with their type 1 diabetes on a daily basis. I have worked and volunteered in a variety of community and clinical settings, reach out to see if my professional experience matches your needs.
