FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If your insurance doesn't cover acupuncture, you're really lucky! I do offer time of service discounts ($80), which is the price quoted and treatment plan discounts, which discount this further! I need to see you to assess your condition and develop a personalized plan, but I am excited to help you reach your health goals! For a new patient visit, there is a one-time $80 fee plus $80 treatment, but this visit is very important for your treatment plan and the achievement of your health goals! It also includes treatment! I accept Health Savings, credit cards, insurance (if you have acupuncture coverage), cash and checks. I am Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO provider.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have more than 20 years of practice, training, and education in both China and the U.S. Medical residency in China included time at the Huaihua Red Cross Hospital for Difficult and Chronic Conditions, hospitals and clinics throughout Southwest China including Kunming.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In March, more than 20 years ago, after battling Lupus for more than 20 years, I found myself alone. I had tried Native American healing methods and herbs. Western Medicine had given up on me and I had become allergic to everything including aspirin. While staving off impending kidney failure, jaundiced, and getting tired breathing, I began calling and emailing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners rather blindly until I got a response. Although I could hardly walk a half block at the time, I took the train downtown, then a cab to the corner of Michigan and Madison and walked about 50 yards to the Chicago office. I entered exhausted and began my journey through TCM, not knowing what to expect! (I had only read some books and tried some of the self-help techniques including Qi-Gong). I left the office after one acupuncture treatment able to walk a mile back to the train station in 15 minutes, coat open. Since then, TCM has sustained me, opened several doors for cultural exploration and study, and allowed me to rededicate my life.
