FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our services are all custom, so there is no standard price. We work with the clients budget along with their landscaping needs. Once there is an agreement on continuing the design a minimum charge of $200 will be due after the final design is completed. This final design will be a full color birds-eye view of your landscape area you wish to be transformed. Plant material and other costs will be discussed during the Landscape Design Presentation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) Initial Landscape Consultation meeting - walk the property analyzing the existing landscape, gather and discuss details from a client questionnaire regarding what's on your "wish list". A price for creating a landscape design is quoted. You will also be asked to provide a copy of you plat of survey. 2) Site Analysis - the landscape designer will take measurements and photos of property for the designing process. 3) Design Process - create a high impact, low-maintenance landscape plan tailored to your personal preferences and site requirements. Using state of the art software, both a color and black and white drawings are created. Once plan is complete, all the plant materials will be located and pricing assembled. 4) Landscape Design Presentation - this is a meeting with the landscape designer and the client. Designer reveals all details of the new landscape plan outlining proposed plant material, hardscape options, and outdoor accessories. You will see pictures of the proposed plants and a breakdown of the costs of all of the plant material associated with the plan. Once the plan is approved by the client, the landscape designer will seek an installation bid from one of our preferred contractors for whatever work is needed. The design fee is due at this meeting. 5) Gather installation bids - landscape designer will facilitate the installation bidding process with all targeted installers. Job specifications will be submitted to contractor(s). These bids will be forwarded to the client after designer review and approval. 6) Schedule installation - once the client has approved an installation bid the project is scheduled for installation! 7) Installation - the transformation begins! Demolition typically occurs on the first day, removal of old plant material and hardscape. Once removal is complete, hardscape is installed and compost is brought and rototilled into the beds. Designer lays out plant material exactly as in plan. Contractor installs all plant material in accordance with the Morton Arboretum planting specifications. The designer supervises the work being performed by the contractors. 8) Final Walk Through - once mulch is installed the designer will walk with the client through the new landscape and review plant material, maintenance requirements, and performance expectations. You will also receive a Plant Library of your plant material. Final payment is due at this time. 9) What to Expect after Installation - Contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
