- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I get to know them and see where they stand in terms of technical skill and theoretical understanding. After learning about the student's goals, however broad or narrow, I then begin working with them toward those specific goals. In some cases I'll help people formulate goals so that we have something we can work towards together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a B.A. in Jazz Studies from the University of Rhode Island and a M.M. in Modern American Music from Longy School of Music of Bard College, located in Cambridge, MA.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Usually through word of mouth. Someone would hear my playing and want to learn how I do what I do. Then we'd connect and the learning process would be begin.
