Denise is very talented and knowledgable about music. I've been taking her lessons for singing since January 2016, and she's been very patient with me. She walks you through the basics of singing and helps you improve your skills. Singing is achievable for anyone; it just depends on your teacher and your dedication. The teacher is amazing, so just make sure you're dedicated to your lessons. You are paying for them, and they will pay off!May 9, 2016Verified
I really don't want to ever take lessons with anyone else. She is great and I'm glad I gave this Thumbtack thing a try. Absolutely recommended if you want to really learn voice, learn YOUR voice, and improve skill and confidence. I feel like I'm on my way there already thanks to my lessons with Denise so far. I've had multiple other teachers in my life but I just never stayed in it very long because I didn't feel growth happening (and I believe you should). Surely NOT the case here at all. I'm very thankful.Dec 15, 2015Verified

Love Denise. She's honest about where you are vocally but doesn't make you feel insecure at the same time. I've never sang before and I would recommend her to anyone. I am singing way better than I ever thought I was capable of and I'm still very much a beginner, only on lesson 5 but I feel capable of getting further with Denise as my teacher.Oct 3, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?30 min - $28 45 min - $40 60 min - $55
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?*** Lesson Details *** My teaching is based on my own personal, classical training from Europe and North America. Whether it's opera, oratorio, musical theater or pop-style singing that is desired, I believe that classical technique is an essential source of proper singing that can be used to train singers of all genres. Lessons are tailored to the student's individual goals and abilities. Music history and theory, as well as vocalization, posture, breathing, diction, tone production, and general technique are incorporated into each lesson. In addition, the students also participate in performance master classes and recitals, learning stage presence and concert etiquette.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I hold a Master's in Voice Performance degree from University of New Orleans and Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from State Music Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2001, I toured with International European Opera Company which performed numerous times in Denmark, France, Italy and USA. I currently perform and teach in the New Orleans area and love to share my knowledge and experience with my students. There is so much more to performance then just beautiful vocalizing.....
