FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally I charge $60 per lesson in the student's home or $50 per lesson in my studio located in St. Roch. Lessons are scheduled to be an hour long but are very relaxed time-wise to allow for follow-up questions and exploration. Also, timing can be adjusted for the needs of the students (younger children sometimes work better with 30-45min lessons).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I make sure to first take note of a new student's musical tastes and personal musical goals. Then in the first lesson I evaluate what technical or theoretical hurdles are keeping the student from their goal, then use carefully chosen songs in their favorite genres to work specifically on those skills. The best way to get people to practice is if you give them something that makes it hard to put instrument down!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
