FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
BrottWorks has clients throughout the United States. We can produce custom work from your site drawings and photographs of your space. We require a design deposit to put together a design proposal for your custom project. The deposit is applied towards the balance of your commission. After a deposit is received, we put together a proposal that includes elevations, a color rendering, glass color examples, glass samples if needed, a project budget and projected lead time. Packing, Crating, Shipping and Insurance quotes will be provided as best estimates pending zip code and item to be shipped. We will bill off of the actual shipping costs. Once a design and budget are finalized, a purchase agreement is signed and a 50% deposit is required to start. Pending the current production schedule and based on the quoted lead time, your project will be fabricated. Once the work is complete and ready to ship, the final balance is due prior to shipping. We will invoice packing, crating, shipping + insurance costs. BrottWorks will come to your site to install your custom work. Additional fees based on location, transportation, installation, per diem & assistant apply. We work directly with your electrician for all electrical requirements.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Artist Statement: I rely on research and imagery from nature and industry as primary influences in my work. Airplanes and hummingbirds both may fly, but each evolved separately designed to complete specific tasks. Their designs evolved because of trial and error. In industry, some planes flew, some planes crashed; in nature, some hummingbirds mated, some hummingbirds starved. Both the laws of physics and nature have created a natural and living aesthetic through natural selection. I find my relationship with my own art and my knowledge of this aesthetic guides the work that I passionately pursue.
