Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I provide experienced and informed psychological treatment for adults and adolescents. My areas of specialty and interest include helping patients improve their relationships, understand decisions about career moves and other life transitions, overcome impulsive behaviors, cope with grief and loss, and navigate young adulthood. I also work well with patients who tend to ruminate, finding themselves in patterns of self-critical or perfectionistic thinking. My treatment approach draws from psychodynamic theory, mindfulness-based stress reduction practices, and family systems models. I offer the freedom of an empathic and nonjudgmental way of looking at things. *There are no reviews listed here because it's my policy to maintain confidentiality and not to ask for reviews. Please feel free to call and/or email me for information. I'm here to talk, and, more importantly, to listen.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Our initial consultation will include a discussion of what's going on in your life that has led you to therapy. You'll get a sense of me and how I work, and we’ll get a feel for whether or not it seems a good fit. We'll also discuss fees, which are generally flexible, based on session time of day, the frequency of our meetings, and personal circumstances. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare insurances as well. You'll find my office located conveniently close to transit, just a few blocks south of Union Square.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I earned my graduate degree at the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC, and completed the pre-doctoral internship at Green Chimneys School in Brewster, NY, where I received comprehensive training in DBT. Subsequently, I have participated in post-doctoral training in a variety of settings, studying object relations theories, and focusing on the understanding of mind-body integration.
