Introduction: I have studied art for over a decade, focusing mainly on drawing and painting (in oil, acrylic, and watercolor), though I have experience in a wide range of other media. I have taught at the San Francisco Art Institute, New York Public Schools, and community centers in the Bay Area, and my work has been shown at galleries in San Francisco, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.
While I have taught mostly college students, I have also acted as a volunteer instructor for ages five to seventy, and with students from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences. I value the ability to build confidence in all my students, and to create a comfortable and rewarding environment for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Julia did a public program for us at the Rotary Nature Center in Oakland, and it was fantastic! She taught watercolor and bird illustration, and was able to teach across a broad spectrum of ages for this drop-in program. Julia is a fantastic teacher, and everyone had a great time. If you're thinking about hiring Julia to teach an art class, I highly recommend her! She's also an amazing artist, to boot :)
