FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My portrait services range in price from $200-400, based on how many "looks" a client needs, how many hours it will take to shoot the photos (example: headshots can take as little as an hour but newborn photography is usually 2.5-4 hours, so newborn packages cost more), and how much post-processing is needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out what style of photography a client is looking for: do they want lots of traditional posed photos? More journalistic, candid work? A combination? And then we discuss whether they want props, any outfits or accessories provided, and whether they want studio or outdoor photos. My personal favorite is outdoor, candid work but I have plenty of backdrops and such to do studio portraits if the weather doesn't cooperate or if a client just prefers studio.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in Photography at LSU, so I have a BFA and I worked at the school newspaper and a professional portrait studio in college. 4 of my 5 years of photography training was with film & film processing and the remainder with digital. Post college, I worked for a wedding photography studio that is based out of Baton Rouge but does weddings all over the South, about 1000 events annually; and then when I moved to Atlanta I continued to work with a fashion photographer to further learn different industry standards. I am a member of multiple photography guilds and professional learning groups so that I can further my skills and stay on top of the current trends.
