FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Wedding videography: packages are on my website. Low-Budget packages starting at $700 Basic packages starting at $1,400 Ultimate package is $4,000. Tape conversions are priced low, because people should be able to afford updating their precious memories for future generations. Shipping is on the customer, or a travel fee to pick up tapes and drop off DVD's usually added for outside of McLean County IL (except for situations where I am already heading to the town the customer lives). Commercial videography is on a situational basis, determined by creative direction, location, services and equipment needed, and final product. Photography is something I am gaining experience in, so sessions are not only discounted but also a combined photo + video session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Wedding Videography--converse (phone, e-mail, or meeting) with the couple concerning everything they desire for their special day and final product, determining if I can fulfill those within their budget. If an in-person meeting for contract and retainer cannot be done, then digital contract and Video Transfer--after conversing via e-mail, Facebook, or phone to help the customer feel comfortable with me handling their precious memories, the customer reviews terms and conditions, and ships their tapes/slides/reels to me with advance payment (I can also send an mp4 of the first tape to reassure before payment). If it is a much larger project that takes over a month, e-mail updates are sent with the status of their tapes at the 1 month mark then every 2 weeks after that until project is completed. Commercial video--first listen to their creative direction, then determine if I can fulfill their needs and how, then build contract and proceed with project accordingly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
