Introduction: Hi there! I'm Sarah: an Oakland (California) based photographer. I believe in a simply joyful life! I'm all about real emotions, vibrant colors, and truly enjoying the moment! Less posing, more you! :) I've also been an ICU nurse for over 10 years. As a nurse, I love the connections that I make with all kinds of people in the most vulnerable times of their lives, and being there for complete strangers when they need it the most. But working in trauma and dealing with death and tragedy on a daily basis does take a toll. So in 2016 I made a conscious decision to move toward photography, where I found that I could experience the same genuine connections during important times in peoples' lives, but in a joyful way! (And as an extra plus, nothing stresses me out since I've been trained to respond thoughtfully and swiftly in intense situations! Nursing and photography have more in common than you think!) I crave honest human connections, and I'd love to get to know you as much as possible in whatever time we have together! Sarah was great to work with, she is great with kids and even got my grumpy twins to have fun. The pictures are AMAZING, as a single mom i have almost no pictures of me with my kids, so , getting family photos from Sarah is a huge treat. I highly recommend her!

Having photos taken with Sarah was a wonderful, easy experience. Many weeks before the photo shoot, Sarah sent out tips for helping the photo shoot go well and was willing to re-schedule for rain. She spent time scouting out ideal spots at the locations we wanted to shoot at ahead of time, sending us photos and suggestions beforehand from which we were able to choose. It's easy to see that Sarah loves what she's doing. We were impressed with how the engagement photos came out, so much so that we asked her to do our wedding as well!

Sarah was awesome! We are huge A's fans and decided to do a 2nd round of engagement photos at the Coliseum. Sarah was up for the adventure and we had such a fun time exploring the stadium and getting creative with our shots. Sarah did an amazing job capturing both our love for each other and for baseball! This was an experience we will never forget and we have Sarah to thank for it. We highly recommend her for any special event in your life. For all of my photography, I simply charge an hourly rate so every session is customized to exactly what you want!
