Introduction: I (Chef Yo: founder and operator of The Town Chef) create culinary masterpieces that are delectable, vibrant, and clearly made with a strong passion for the art of cooking. Meals are catered to your needs and preferences, always with your tastes in mind. I have traveled the world to build my repertoire of international cuisines, and in addition have gained professional experience right here in the Bay Area (including an internship at Chez Panisse in Berkeley). Now I am ready to bring my collection of skills and experiences right to your home kitchen.
My favorite part of this work is that I get to build strong, personal relationships with clients, all based around food. I have come to this profession because my passion for cooking, eating, and connecting through food continues to grow exponentially day by day. Being a personal chef allows me to put this passion towards good use by fueling my creativity to meet the individual needs of each client. My goal is always to please the palate and nourish the soul.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing The Town Chef twice. The first time, chef Yoav came to our home and prepared a week of meals as our personal chef. The meals were all absolutely delicious. They were all prepared with such care and love. The flavors and textures were perfect, and his special blends of seasonings makes each dish unique. He was able to tailor each meal our personal preferences, tastes and dietary needs.
The second time I enjoyed his creations was after I recommended him to a friend and she used him for a dinner party she was planning. The meal was amazing. A fusion of Asian and Mediterranean. His home made pita bread is the BEST I have ever had! It’s his special recipe and could be a meal unto itself! Yoav’s flavors and blends of spices are terrific. Would highly recommend him.

The Town Chef (Yoav) catered the wedding rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding in the Santa Cruz mountans. He was extremely accommodating in terms of helping select the ideal menu for a group of 30+ guests and children. His suggestions in finalizing the menu and quantities were always helpful and accurate. He thought through all of the details in advance so that he could arrive at the dinner site ready to get started immediately. Since he was unfamiliar with the kitchen, he left nothing to chance and either asked the right questions in advance or came prepared to deal with the unexpected. Items that did not need to be prepared on-site were ready to go when he arrived, and he already knew exactly how he planned to lay things out. Yoav and his crew were very friendly to the guests and fit in quite well. They plotted out their tasks so that everything ran seemlessly, according to his detailed schedule. There were many nice touches, including printed signs to identify the menu items on the buffet table. For us this was a very important, once-in-a-lifetime occasion, where family members from both sides of the new family were meeting for the first time. The Town Chef's calm and professional presence relieved us of having to deal with the practical details of hosting a large dinner, and enabled us to relax and get acquainted with the bride's family. Yoav was absolutely the best choice for this event and I highly recommend him! I look forward to finding another occasion someday where I can hire him again!
