Top notch service and attention to detail. My daughter really enjoyed working with Mike. He really knows his stuff and is totally worth all that he offers. He helped tremendously with SAT prep as well as hours helping her get her personal statement essays in order. After all the stress of applying was finally over the wait for the acceptance letters was totally worth it when she got into 10 of the colleges she applied to. She got offered many offers from top schools. Ultimately she choose UCLA with a full academic scholarship. I will be using his services for my son who is now a junior in high school now. You wont be disappointed with all that he has to offer, so glad we stumbled across his services when we were looking.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike before and during my junior year in 2016 to prepare for the SAT. I had never used a tutor before, and Mike totally blew me out of the water. My parents and I didn't know what to expect, but after the free consultation we knew Mike would be the perfect choice.During our first meeting and benchmark test Mike took painstaking notes on my timing, body language, and completed sections. By the end he had built a profile, knew what needed work, and then proceeded to lay it out for me with a very clear path towards improvement. In other words, he completely adapted to best teach to my learning style. The results were outstanding, with my score raising 250 points into the 99th percentile. However, the most interesting part about my work with Mike was how applicable his teachings were beyond the SAT. Over time, Mike totally reshaped my approach towards analytical reading, turning what used to be a chore into an engaging activity. Thus, when my test date finally came along I felt totally comfortable with the section that used to give me the most trouble. From our socratic method sessions to laughing about hand exercises to stop cramping during the essay, Mike was always the perfect combination of intellectual and comical. Without a doubt, he has been one of my favorite teachers of all time. Of course, the work he assigned was difficult, yet it was never pointless. Each piece helped me improve, and every session began with a review of what I had learned along with what worked and what still wasn't. There is so much to be gained from the individuality that Mike brings, including his phenomenal flexibility and availability via text almost 24/7, that it is too exhaustive to list it all here. However, I promise that each dollar goes way further with Mike than it does anywhere else, regardless of what "score increase" they may report. Finally, one of the biggest factors in my decision to work with Mike was his hour for hour promise. It's clear that above all else Mike cares about the success of his students, and as such every client, paid or not, is going to receive the same great tutoring. He's constantly looking to improve, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's even better now than he was when i worked with him. I'm incredibly glad that I got to work with Mike as a tutor and learn from him as a friend. My recommendation: Do the free consultation, I think you'll see right away why Mike is such a great tutor.

Mike is a very particular kind of great teacher. There isn't that feeling like there is with a lot of great teachers that he's teaching a skill because his superiority depends on it, or because he has some grudging duty to share his knowledge. Mike's genuine desire to help people is so clear that our time together never seems wasted and I have never felt uncomfortable asking him a question about anything. He's probably the least arrogant person I've ever met, and he's not condescending or complacently certain in anything he says or does. In addition, he's definitely the most patient and friendly person I've ever worked with.Aside from his personal qualities, which positively influence the way he teaches, Mike's approach to teaching focuses mostly on the learning process instead of on taking failures and successes as absolute reassurances of your weaknesses and strengths. He works holistically and takes each question not as an opportunity to lecture but as a problem that is solvable by me with some guidance from him. I like the way I struggle under Mike because he lets me think, and pushes the boundaries of my mindset before he hands me an answer. That process makes me feel more capable and not completely hopeless, even when I'm completely clueless about a problem. He's never told me before that I can't do something, but instead he's guided me to learn what I should and shouldn't do. Strangely enough, some of my favorite times have been my sessions with Mike, not necessarily because SAT prep makes me blissful and peaceful and what not, but because I learn more about myself and more about the world than I do in regular school. My SAT score improved dramatically, and I find myself applying the things I discuss with Mike on a regular basis in school and relaying some of his wisdom to other people unintentionally. All in all, I would recommend Wright Minded to everyone, and I have the utmost respect, admiration, and gratitude for Mike and his expertise.

Michael Wright runs a tight operation with prepared teaching material, a personalized online schedule, and homework to ensure his students apply their newly taught knowledge. However, he is also an opportunist who continuously seeks out new methods to teach his students. Mikes style of teaching varies from understanding literary devices through movie references to introducing innovative techniques for understanding complex math problems. His sessions develop into a full immersion program where I quickly became comfortable with the testing material in front of me. It also became apparent that I utilized the reasoning component I learned from our sessions to grow the confidence in finding solutions during the exam. As a result, my experience with Mike and his wonderful SAT program led me to improve several hundred points. Mike goes above and beyond with his students by not only offering tutoring but the mentorship needed to succeed. In all, Michael Wright equips himself every day with the patience, knowledge, and drive to assist his students as he persistently looks out for their best interest.

I received tutoring from this organization starting my junior year of high school. It was a great process as Mike, the tutor, worked one-on-one with me to learn about my strength and weaknesses. He used that to find the best way to help improve my SAT scores. With his help, I improved my SAT score by almost 100 points. The other benefit of working with him is that he isn't limited to helping improve SAT scores, but he also helped me with my personal statement and other parts of the college process. I was able to get accepted into 20+ colleges, many of which were selective schools. I highly recommend this service.
